12. Innsbrucker Sportökonomie & -management Symposium in Obergurgel

Auch in diesem Jahr fand wieder das 12. Innsbrucker Sportökonomie & -management Symposium statt. Das Symposium ist eine bewährte Kooperation zwischen der Sportinstitute der Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck und  der Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Es wird veranstaltet von Prof. Dr. Martin Schnitzer (Innsbruck) und Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß (Mainz) sowie von Cornelia Praxmarer-Kohli (Innsbruck) und Dr. Norbert Schütte (Mainz) organisiert. Das Symposium fand in diesem Jahr vom 6.- 8. April 2023 im Universitätszentrum der Universität Innsbruck in Obergurgl (Ötztal) in kleinerem Rahmen und mit mehr Zeit für Diskussionen statt. 

Aus der Abteilung Sportökonomie, -soziologie und -geschichte waren Prof. Dr. Preuß und Dr. Norbert Schütte vor Ort. Dr. Norbert Schütte hat in diesem Zuge einen Vortrag zum Thema "Kulturrelativismus vs. Kulturuniversalismus: Katar, die WM und die Binde" gehalten, dem im Anschluss eine aktive und fruchtbare Diskussion folgte.

In fünf Sessions gab es Vorträge zu den Themen:

  • Sportvereine und Ehrenamt
  • Sportentwicklungsplanung
  • Sportkonsum
  • Konflikte in der Sportausübung
  • Sportgroßveranstaltungen (Vortrag von Dr. Norbert Schütte: “ Kulturrelativismus vs. Kulturuniversalismus: Katar, die WM und die Binde“)

Nächstes Jahr wird das Symposium wieder im Sportinstitut der Uni Innsbruck stattfinden und auch dort wird unsere Abteilung wieder teilnehmen.

The 12th Innsbruck Sports Economics & Management Symposium took place again this year. The symposium is a proven cooperation between the sports institutes of the Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. It is hosted by Prof. Dr. Martin Schnitzer (Innsbruck) and Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß (Mainz) and organised by Cornelia Praxmarer-Kohli (Innsbruck) and Dr. Norbert Schütte (Mainz). This year, the symposium took place from 6-8 April 2023 at the University Centre of the University of Innsbruck in Obergurgl (Ötztal) on a smaller scale and with more time for discussions.
From the Department of Sports Economics, Sociology and History, Prof. Dr Preuß and Dr Norbert Schütte were on site. Dr Norbert Schütte gave a lecture on "Cultural relativism vs. cultural universalism: Qatar, the World Cup and the armband", which was followed by an active and fruitful discussion.
There were five sessions with presentations on the topics:
Sports clubs and volunteering
Sports development planning
Sport consumption
Conflicts in the practice of sport
Major sporting events (lecture by Dr. Norbert Schütte: "Cultural relativism vs. cultural universalism: Qatar, the World Cup and the armband").
Next year the symposium will take place again at the Sports Institute of the University of Innsbruck and our department will participate there as well.
