Am Donnerstag, den 18. April fand die Einführungsveranstaltung der neuen Masterkohorte im Internationalen Sportmanagement statt. Ab 15:00 Uhr luden Professor Holger Preuß und sein Team die neuen Studierenden hierfür in eine der VIP-Logen der MEWA-Arena in Mainz ein.
Die Veranstaltung begann mit der Begrüßung der neuen Studierenden durch Prof. Preuß, ehe Felix Rentschler, Teamleiter Business Development, Brand Building, Global Activity und eSPORTS beim 1. FSV Mainz 05 einen interessanten Impulsvortrag über aktuelle Projekte und Kampagnen ("NIEMALS AUFGEBEN!") im Marketing des Fußball-Bundesligisten präsentierte. Im Anschluss hatten die Studierenden die Möglichkeit Felix einige Fragen zu stellen und mit ihnen gemeinsam zu diskutieren.
Anschließend veranschaulichten Prof. Preuß und Studiengangsbeauftragter Kim Schu die diversen organisatorischen und inhaltlichen Themen des Masterstudiengangs. Auch das Kennenlernen untereinander sowie das Kennenlernen des Teams rund um Prof. Preuß und Kim Schu, das an diesem Nachmittag durch Lina-Doreen Rose, Antonia Hannawacker, Yannick Rinker, Rolf Hufft, Maria Delgado und Mohammad Alkayal vertreten war, kam während der Veranstaltung nicht zu kurz.
Fortgesetzt wurde das Event bei einem gemeinsamen Abendessen im Burgerheart Mainz. Dort konnten die Studierenden und Mitarbeitenden gemeinsam den Tag ausklingen lassen und sich in lockerer Atmosphäre noch besser untereinander kennenlernen.
Ein tolles erstes gemeinsames Event für alle Beteiligten, das hoffentlich die Weichen für ein hochinteressantes Studium hier bei uns in Mainz stellen wird. Professor Preuß und sein Team danken Felix und dem 1. FSV Mainz 05 für ihr Engagement und wünschen den neuen Masterstudierenden viel Spaß und Erfolg in ihrem Studium bei uns am Institut für Sportwissenschaft! Wir freuen uns auf die Zeit mit Euch!

On Thursday, April 18th, the Kick-Off event for the new Master cohort in International Sports Management took place. Starting from 3:00 PM, Professor Holger Preuß and his team invited the new students to one of the VIP lounges at the MEWA Arena in Mainz.
The event commenced with a welcome address to the new students by Prof. Preuß, followed by an engaging keynote presentation by Felix Rentschler, Team Leader of Business Development, Brand Building, Global Activity, and eSports at 1. FSV Mainz 05, on current projects and campaigns ("NIEMALS AUFGEBEN!") in the marketing domain of the Bundesliga football club. Following this, students had the opportunity to ask Felix questions and engage in discussion.
Subsequently, Prof. Preuß and program coordinator Kim Schu elucidated various organizational and substantive topics of the Master's program. The event also facilitated networking among the students and introduced them to the team led by Prof. Preuß and Kim Schu, including Lina-Doreen Rose, Antonia Hannawacker, Yannick Rinker, Rolf Hufft, Maria Delgado and Mohammad Alkayal, who were present that afternoon.
The event continued with a communal dinner at Burgerheart Mainz, where students and staff could unwind and further acquaint themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.
It was a fantastic inaugural event for all involved, hopefully setting the stage for an engaging academic journey here in Mainz. Professor Preuß and his team extend their gratitude to Felix and 1. FSV Mainz 05 for their involvement and wish the new Master's students much enjoyment and success in their studies at the Institute for Sports Science! We look forward to our time together!
