Im Februar begann in der Abteilung das DAiSI-Projekt, welches von der Europäischen Union sowie weiteren öffentlichen Geldgebern (Schweizer Staatssekretariat für Bildung, Forschung und Innovation; Regierung des Vereinigten Königreichs) mit ca. 4,8 Millionen Euro gefördert wird. Das Programm bietet 17 Doktoranden*innen von 2023-2027 die Möglichkeit einer umfassenden und interdisziplinären Ausbildung in einem renommierten internationalen Netzwerk. Antragsteller für die JGU sind Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß und PD Dr. Mathias Schubert. Ebenfalls involviert ist Prof. Dr. Juliane Heidenreich von der Uni Leipzig.
Neben der JGU gehören die KU Leuven (Belgien), die Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (Norwegen), die Swansea University (Wales) und Universität Lausanne (Schweiz) zu den fünf Universitäten, die das universitäre Netzwerk bilden. Darüber hinaus gehören auch 7 führende internationale Sportverbände, Sportorganisationen und Nichtregierungsorganisationen zum interdisziplinären Netzwerk: Das Internationale Olympische Komitee (IOC), der Internationale Fußballverband (FIFA), die Union der Europäischen Fußballverbände (UEFA), die Welt Anti-Doping Agentur (WADA), die Biathlon Intregity Unit (BIU), das EU Büro des Europäischen Olympichschen Komitees sowie die Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
4 der 17 Doktorand*innen werden an der JGU betreut und bereichern seit Februar das Institut, wodurch das universitäre Streben nach weiterer Internationalisierung unterstützt wird. Die 4 Personen nehmen sich im Rahmen ihrer Promotion den folgenden Themen an:
- Maria Delgado (MEX): Crisis communication after ethical misconduct on social media
- Viktoriia Smirnova (RUS):The erosion of sport autonomy and its impact on traditional models of sport
- Aline Lopes da Silva Candeo (BRA): eSports integrity – ethics and governance
- Mohammad Al Kayal (SYR): Legacy of Olympic Games (Mega Sport Events)
Die Abteilung freut sich über die internationalen Neuzugänge und wünscht den 4 Personen einen erfolgreichen Aufenthalt an der JGU.

In February, the DAiSI project began in the department, which is funded by the European Union and other public donors (Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation; UK government) with around 4.8 million euros. The program offers 17 doctoral students the opportunity of comprehensive and interdisciplinary training in a renowned international network from 2023-2027. Applicants for JGU are Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß and PD Dr. Mathias Schubert. Prof. Dr. Juliane Heidenreich from Leipzig University is also involved.
In addition to JGU, KU Leuven (Belgium), the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (Norway), Swansea University (Wales) and the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) are among the five universities that make up the university network.
