Vom 22. Juni bis 5. Juli 2026 fand die diesjährige MAiSI Summer School an der International Olympic Academy (IOA) im griechischen Olympia statt. Studierende und Lehrende kamen am historischen Ursprungsort der Olympischen Spiele zusammen, um sich intensiv mit den Themen Olympismus, Sportethik, Integrität und Good Governance im Sport auseinanderzusetzen. Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß und PD Dr. Mathias Schubert begleiteten die Summer School, wirkten an den akademischen Programmpunkten mit und nahmen an den Verteidigungen der Masterarbeiten der Kohorte 8 teil.
Die Summer School vereinte insgesamt 34 Studierende aus zwei Kohorten des Erasmus Mundus Joint Master-Programms Sport Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI). Während die Studierenden der Kohorte 9 erstmals die International Olympic Academy besuchten und die Module Olympism and the Olympic Movement sowie Research Methods & Skills absolvierten, bildete die Veranstaltung für die Kohorte 8 den Abschluss ihres Masterstudiums. Im Rahmen der Summer School verteidigten die Studierenden erfolgreich ihre Masterarbeiten.
Das MAiSI-Programm wird gemeinsam von fünf führenden europäischen Universitäten getragen: der University of the Peloponnese, der KU Leuven (Koordination), der Charles University in Prague, der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz sowie der Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona. Seit mittlerweile neun Jahren qualifiziert das Programm internationale Nachwuchsführungskräfte für verantwortungsvolles Handeln, ethische Führung und Integrität im Sport.

From 22 June to 5 July 2026, the annual MAiSI Summer School took place at the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Olympia, Greece. Students and faculty gathered at the historic birthplace of the Olympic Games to engage in an intensive academic programme focusing on Olympism, sport ethics, integrity, and good governance in sport. Prof. Dr. Holger Preuß and PD Dr. Mathias Schubert participated in the Summer School, contributed to the academic programme, and took part in the master's thesis defenses of Cohort 8.
The Summer School brought together 34 students from two cohorts of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programme Sport Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI). While Cohort 9 visited the International Olympic Academy for the first time and completed the modules Olympism and the Olympic Movement and Research Methods & Skills, the Summer School marked the culmination of the master's programme for Cohort 8. As part of the programme, the students successfully defended their master's theses.
The MAiSI programme is jointly delivered by five leading European universities: the University of the Peloponnese, KU Leuven (coordinating institution), Charles University in Prague, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona. For the past nine years, the programme has been preparing future leaders to promote integrity, ethical leadership, and good governance in sport.
